The Eye is an independent monthly newspaper (the aim is to eventually be a weekly) made possible entirely through the work of volunteers.
The newspaper is not guided by any one ideology and instead seeks to be as inclusive as possible of the different voices found in Trinidad and Tobago by using the following principles to guide its content:
The Eye gives a voice to a new generation while connecting with the past.
The Eye aims to provide a forum for the development of a people-centred vision about the way forward as a nation by establishing a healthy dialogue with the public, in order to provide content that is relevant to the reality of people’s lives while enabling them to become responsible citizens with a social conscience.
The Eye is an independent publication that is unfettered by corporate or political ties and takes seriously its responsibility to provide an alternative medium for news and commentary.
The Eye is a highly visual medium that is committed to the creative arts and provides a space for young artists in particular to publish their work, in addition to highlighting developments in the local creative community.
Our aim is to make this electronic newspaper available to those on the other side of the digital divide. We are aiming to print at least 10,000 copies of each issue and distribute them for free to members of the public.

Advertise
We are partnering specifically with small businesses, NGOs and community groups. If you have a small business or organisation and wish to advertise for a small price in a publication with a circulation of at least 10,000, please contact The Eye via phone or e-mail.
Submit Content
Since The Eye is a not-for-profit initiative and is made possible by the work of volunteers, we welcome your submissions in the form of feature articles, commentary, original photographs, creative work (poems, songs, short stories), letters, reviews (movies, art, music, eating establishments) and illustrations.
You can also send us interesting pictures taken with your camera or cell phone that depict what life is like in Trinidad and Tobago.
Inform
Our public forum is a great way to have your say while adding to the content of the newspaper. Please let us know what is going on where you are and take responsibility for defining what is newsworthy. We would especially like to know about upcoming events - cultural, creative and community-based - so we can highlight them in the newspaper and website.
